Here are some more of my favorite sites.
Samarost
http://amanita-design.net/samorost-1/
Why? It’s an enchanting game/puzzle/story that presents a challenge to me, but doesn’t frustrate me to the point of quitting. (This is for oldsters only. It’s a doddle for anyone under 30.)
SciTech Daily
Why? It’s great site for recent science and technical articles. Updated daily.
Botany Photo of the Day
http://www.ubcbotanicalgarden.org/potd/
Why? For the terrific pictures of plants from all over the world, usually photographed in situ.
The Brick Testament
http://www.thebricktestament.com/
Why? Need to brush up on your scripture? Visit The Brick Testament. You can read bible verses there that are never read out in church today. (I’m not counting Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptists.) The image that accompanies this post is from The Brick Testament.
Why? Because of Charles Winpenny’s photos of one of the loveliest places I’ve ever been. His site is updated almost daily and that’s how often I visit it. My only problem with this site is that it doesn’t render well in Firefox, so I have to use IE to see it.
Snopes
Why? One of the best sites I know for debunking urban legends and emails about deadly ‘Pop Rocks’. Use it. Think of the bandwidth we’ll free up if we can eliminate some of the chain-mail hoaxes that litter the cybersphere!
