Dear New Yorker Magazine,

(I wrote this to The New Yorker Magazine today:)

You MAY be overestimating the comprehension of the average magazine buyer.

The average magazine buyer is going to pick up a copy of 'People' or "Auto World' or 'The Sporting News'. They're not going to buy the 'New Yorker'. But they'll see it sitting there on the rack and they'll take the image of your July 21st cover with them. without ever reading the accompanying article. Good choice!
